Kojic Acid Soap
By DrAlex
Products like Brown Spot Night Cream may help whiten skin tone problems caused by sun damage, melasma and hyperpigmentation.
If you are looking for a natural skin lightener or a product that can help people even out their skin tone, then kojic acid soap may be a good solution for you. It has been used for years in the far east as an alternative to hydroquinone for it bleaching effects but many women are using it to treat hyperpigmentation as well as sun spots, freckles, liver sopts and a number of other pigment problems related to beauty. While kojic acid soap can be used alone, most women use the soap as a small part of their facial treatment.
Kojic acid was was first discovered in a mushroom in 1989 and was first discovered to be a great way to whiten skin tone because of the way it was able to inhibit pigmentation in plants and animal tissues. It also has antifungal and antibacterial properties in it, making it a perfect ingredient to be used in a soap.
The reason why this natural skin lightener has taken off is because typically women of darker skin tone such as those found in Asia and Africa, tend to develop uneveness in their skin tone and lighter skin tends to hide skin flaws better.
Products such Phyto +Botanical Gel and other products by skinceutical labs can also help with hyperpigmentation problems, even out skin tone and even lighten skin tone producing bright, healthy skin.
The soap works because it is really nothing more than a deep exfoliater, buffing away skin cells that have either been damaged by the sun or are the result of melasma or hyperpigmentation. Most of these soaps use some type of citric acid fruit, such as a papaya, which further break down the facial skin cells and lterally peel away the damaged skin which results in bright "new" skin underneath.
Kojic acid soap can be used daily as you would use regular soap or once again, directly on the areas that have been affected. Women who are trying to even out or reduce the appearance of freckles or age spots have found that using this soap daily can help diminish them.
Women who experiance melasma (the mask of pregnancy) have reported similar positive results using kojic acid.
While using kojic acid soap may sound like the perfect solution to help keep the skin vibrant and lighter in tone, some women who have sensitive skin should test it to make sure that the soap doesn't irritate their skin. In some cases, women can experience dermitis. The best rule of thumb is to test the kojic acid soap on a small area of the body to make sure that the skin doesn't become red, itchy, inflamed or tender.
Also, if you decide that kojic acid is for you, you will need to stop using other skin products that contain other exfoliator ingredients such as salicylic acid, retinol or alpha hydroxy because using the two in tandem can further aggrevate and dry out the skin.
