How to Use Black Cherry Juice for Gout Arthritis
81
What is the difference between regular cherry juice and black cherry juice when it comes to people who are looking for a way to control their gout? Both work very well but black cherries have more of the potent antioxidants that will help reduce uric acid levels down to the appropriate levels. And as most who suffer from gout probably know, reducing uric acid levels is critical to controlling gout outbreaks.
In fact, a recent scientific study concluded that drinking cherry juice or even eating a handful of black cherries could reduce uric acid levels by as much as 15%. A separate study concluded that black jerries (and regular cherries) can effectively, not only make uric acid levels more manageable but a daily regime of a handful of this fruit could prevent recurring outbreaks.
It is no longer speculation; Using Cherry Juice for gout works.
There are some considerations to think about before you go out and purchase cherry juice. The first one is to realize that most juice is loaded with sugar and this is something that could actually stimulate an outbreak. The best approach is to go to your local grocery, preferably a health food grocery such as Whole Foods and buy the concentrated version of black cherry juice.
Take your black cherry juice and combine two tablespoons of the concentrate with 1 cup of water. Mix well. Drink twice daily to prevent future gout outbreaks.
If you don't like the taste of cherry juice, you can also simply take the two tablespoons of the concentrate, much in the same way that you would do it if you were taking medicine. Black cherry juice concentrate is very, very sweet though.
Another alternative to simply drinking the juice is to use it as a mix (this is really good if you are trying to detox your body with a short fast) and mix it with yogurt and other fruit, such as banana (which is high in potassium) or berries. The key here isn't drinking it solely but maintaining a healthy diet using cherry juice for a preventative measure against gout.
I have to warn you that cherry juice isn't a save all preventative though. The best way to prevent gout is to maintain a diet rich in fruits and vegetables (red meats actually have purines in the food which promotes gout) and mix that with a healthy does of exercise daily.

No you do not want the juice that sits on a shelf until you open it. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that a lot of heat has been put to the product in order to
make it shelf stable. How many nutrients are you losing? You want fresh crisp cherry juice like the kind you find in Kroger in the produce section. It is called FruitFast and is delicious. It tastes like you just picked the cherries off the tree- try it you will love it
Hi have been drinking the black cherry juice concentrate but it contained to much suger 28 grams per serving and I was gaining weight. My doctor told me about the tart cherry juice since it only has 15 grams of suger per serving, it works wonders without all of the sugar. She recommended the cherry juice from Traverse Bay Farms from Michigan

I'm printing out this hub for my mom who was just diagnosed with gout. My daughter works at a health food store and can get me the juice there. I am going to start drinking it too! Thanks for the health tip!
