Crohns disease cure
80What is Crohn's Disease?
Crohn's is one of many inflammatory bowel disorders. It is also called ileitis or enteritis and it usually affects the lowest portion of the small intestines, although it isn't unheard of for it to affect other parts of the digestive tract. A very small percentage of people are affected by crohn's (1.2-15 people per 100,000) and it affects both men and women alike and isn't gender specific. Although unknown in origin, Crohn's is typically passed down genetically. The disorder affect all age groups but early onset is usually between the ages of 15 and 30 OR very late in life, between 60 and 80.
While doctors believe that Crohn's disease is genetic, they also believe that crohn's is triggered by bacteria or a virus that in turn will provoke an abnormal activation of the immune system.
Though there is no cure for Crohn's disease, the options for treatment are numerous and entail an attempt to control inflammation and correct nutritional deficiencies.
This hub is dedicated to show you some herbal and nutritional ways to help cure and control crohn's disease.
Crohn's Disease Cure
A very, very, very good friend of mine has crohn's disease. And to be perfectly honest, it just about killed her. Here is her story. Sarah was in her early twenties and had low blood pressure. She was also very underweight. Not deathly underweight, mind you, but it wouldn't have hurt her to put on a few pounds. She started having stomach pains. They became so severe that she went to the doctor. They didn't know what was wrong with her. Shortly thereafter, she was having a problem not with keeping food down, but with keeping food in her system long enough to digest it. As she describes it, it was leaving her body looking the same way as it came into her body.
Sarah went to the hospital several time throughout the course of several months. During this time, she dropped nearly 20 pounds. For most of us, that wouldn't seem like a lot. But for her (she weighed 105 pounds before crohn's), 20 pounds less made her look like a concentration camp victim.
The reason why the doctors didn't catch it were simple. Because Crohn's is a relatively rare disorder, it is difficult to diagnose. Couple this with the similarities with other intestinal disorders like ulcerative colitis, and you have a recipe for doctors not catching the symptoms. And another problem is that crohn's tends to be intermittent at best, occurring every few months for some people.
...and then there was her intestines. After the doctor's finally diagnosed her with Crohn's, they had to surgically remove nearly a foot of her large intestines.
Sarah is okay now, but before her diagnosis, she was staring death at the age of 22 straight in the eye. Just thought I would share that with you.
How to tell if you have Crohn's
Crohn's is especially hard to diagnose because it mimics other intestinal disorders. That said, here are some common symptoms associated with crohns.
- Abdominal Pain
- Chronic Diarrhea
- Gas
- Loss of appetite
- Nausea
- Weight Loss
- Fatigue
- Malaise
- Mouth and anal sores
- Low-grade fever
- Headaches
Additionally if you are anemic, then this could be a symptoms of crohns. As you can see, this is very vague and if you have these symptoms, you could have a variety of other illnesses.
There are some root causes of Crohn's as well.
- Diet High in Fatty and refined foods and low in fiber (for a perfect diet that I believe is the most sensible diet plan out there, you can check out my other hub)
- Food Allergies
- Free Radicals
- Nutritional Deficiencies
- Intestinal infection (usually onset)
- Stress
- Could be genetic.
Crohn's disease cure- Did you Know?
Did you know that Crohn's disease is more prevalent in Caucasians and Jewish people? Researchers recently concluded that Crohn's is four times more common in "white" people than any other ethnic background.
Recommended Foods for Crohn's
While there is no consistent cover all diet that will apply to everyone with Crohn's disease, people with this disease are encouraged to eat as healthy a diet as they can. Because Crohn's is an autoimmune disease that affect digestive absorption, you will want to make sure you are replacing all lost nutrients.
- A diet that is mainly nonacidic is recommended. This includes, broccoli, brussel sprouts, cabbage, carrots, celery, garlic, kale, spinach, turnips, ect.
- Papaya will help with digestion.
- If you are suffering from an attack, you should eat like a baby would. Organic baby foods and steamed vegetables won't tax the digestive system.
- If you are suffering from diarrha, drink pedialyte or something like it to replenish trace minerals and electrolytes. Also, diarrhea sufferers require much more protein than normal.
- Antioxident rich fruits like blueberries will help decrease the risk of developing crohn's.

I have Crohn's and I agree with almost all of what you wrote. But stress does not cause it, it can exacerbate symptoms and flares, but does not cause it. Many of us find that as hard to hear as "its all in your head". Nothing personal. Everything else was great.
I wish that the researchers that are working individually on all of these immuno-suppressive diseases would pool all of their resources to look specifically at the immune system, we may have had more answers by now
It's a good article. However, probiotics could be another good source. Also, there are drugs that are used for Rheumatoid arthritis for this disease. I believe in 2007 and 2008 the FDA allowed for such drugs. I agree with the diet pat. Bananas, rice( no MSG ), applesauce, advacodos, fish, chicken, ect....can be good. However, treatment needs to be a huge consideration. There is what I would call alternative medicine and don't know if it serves a purpose, but certain food organisms are being looked at, and HGH( yes, u hear it in baseball )....Human Growth Hormone. However, the studies are bleak in these areas. So, that's why I say alternative. Really consulting with an M.D, a dietician, and reading literature and taking it for what it is worth is the best in anything. You know ur body. Also, supplementation with fish oil has been proven less, than conventional thinking in the early 2000s. Flax seed oil( the oil ) has been popping up, and the amino acid Glutamine. Again, some diet ppl would say flax oil and L-glutamine help with IBS, and all other G.I ailments. Again, I would like to see further research. I can see how HGH could help, it regards to repair and weight gain. However, does it actually repair intestinal tissue, would be my question....So, really right now what do u got. Well, Flax seed oil, and glutamine, with some pro-biotics, beyond conventional medicine.
IMO, look at why the disease is called what it is....It's named after someone who found it many years ago. Look, so much money has been thrown at ccfa and other organizations, and what have they come up with?....Surgery? Some diets that I just told you. Okay, give me millions now...haha. Look, obviously it was a joke. However, if you really want action, either if you know someone who suffers with IBD, IBS, ..this includes colitis, Ulcerative colitis, Diverticulitis, celiac disease, ect, ect. Call ur congressman or women and email your senator. Hey, look at what the Tea Party attention is getting. Well, in Rome they had a saying," It's the Mob." It's not the mob as you know it today, but they meant the people. Well, if enough voices get heard, then instead of reading....U can actually be doing. This can open up stem cell( which btw is being used without killing embryos....depends where ur on that issue 5 years ago )...It can open up research to M.S, an auto immune disease as well. So even if you know ppl with M.S, call ur congressman, or email. It's getting that simple. America lost industry so it must be strong in research with results. Where are the days of stopping Polio, coming up with anti-biotics to stop strep throat( which killed ppl back in the day mind you ), vaccines for T.B....seems like a long time ago doesn't it. Fact is, so long ago I wasn't even born. What has this generation seen, nothing....oh a plasma screen and lcd t.v. Srry I left out Ipods, hey I enjoy them all. However, u do understand cell phones, the internet have all been around for a very very long time. So has gentical research. It's just been modified or more adaptable for future generations. Please spare the stupid rhetoric. Call ur congressman/women, and senators. If 1 million ppl called,.....hey remember the old saying in Rome," It's the Mob."

alot of poeple with crohns seems to be somewhat dumb, and they typically eat bad food. Then they complaign that they don't and that blah blah genetics when they wont even treat their body like a temple and be very healthy people.
Placebo cures work at least 1/3 of the time- inversely, stress and what people would think arent real causes of things are infact main causes of all your problems. They way you constantly tense your muscles, hunch over and slouch, eat bad food, take shitty pill form supplements -- get over yourself. Your dumb parents giving you antibiotics for every little cold you got taking you to the doctor who typically knows just about nothing about your problems and prescribes generic innefective treatments. You all seem stupid.
