Best Treatment for Uneven Skin Tone
By DrAlex
If you are looking to treat uneven skin or simply improve your skin's overall texture and quality, you may want to consider a premium skin activator. Cosmetic product lines like the Perridone MD advanced face firming activator show positive results.
In fact, in a clinical study, 82% of participants reported an improvement in skin tone and 73% reported marked improvement in skin texture and the "radiance" of their skin....
Uneven skin tone comes for two reasons; Environmental or internal. Most of the time though, things like age spots and freckles come from the environmental side and the most damaging thing you can do to your skin is over expose it to the sun. The internal cause of uneven skin is a little more complicated as it could be a matter hyperpigmentation. Even a tiny shift in your body's hormonal balance brought on by pregnancy, birth control pills or even prescription drugs can effect the production of melanin which in turn can turn parts of your face slightly darker than others.
There are other internal factors as well, such as having oily patches of skin which can make that area more or less dark.
Unfortunately, there isn't a "best" way to treat uneven skin tone. That said, there are some tips that you can do to help improve and even out your skin's appearance.
- The #1 tip that anyone can give you is to simply stay out of the sun. An increase in melanin occurs each and every time you are exposed to the sun. Wear a sun screen or a hat if you have to.
- Ex foliating gels, creams or lotions are a great way to even out skin tones. By using products that contain alpha arbutin, hydroquinone, glycolic acid or kojic acid, you will be able to peel away the dead layers of skin that are darker than the rest and expose a new, fresh layer. Exfoliation works well and many a beauty product uses these ingredients to help even out skin tone. Even using a rag or sponge on the spots will have some effect because you are essentially wiping away dead skin cells.
- Of course, there is makeup and self tanning lotions that you can apply to help even your skin tone. Mystic tans tend to be "too much" but a facial tanner can be used to treat uneven skin.
Of course, when it comes to skin products, you get what you pay for and sometimes it is better to try some home remedies to treat uneven skin. This can apply especially if you have no money.
Most of the low-end beauty skin products use things that you likely have readily available in your pantry or fridge. Here are a few....
- Honey and lemon juice- This works because the absorbic acid in the lemons act as a natural exfoliater. Honey can be used much like you would an Alpha Hydroxy Mask and it is much safer for those of us with sensitive skin.
- Yogurt and Lime- Much in the same way that lemons can exfoliate the skin, limes can work in the very same way. Yogurt contains zinc and acts as a natural moisturizer.
- Tomato and Avacado- Tomatoes are loaded with vitamin C and naturally reduces oil on the face. Because of this, this is perfect if your face is oily in some sections and dry in others.

I have very sensitive, pale, acne-prone, freckled skin with rosacea. Most products, especially very “chemically” ones, are especially rough on my skin. I still purchased the LadySoma Renewal Serum on a whim in an attempt to lighten the new age spot on my cheek and was very happy with the results.
I can’t use it EVERY night, as it causes the rosacea to flare up, but using it every other night has evened out my skin tone, did not break me out, lightened my age spot and some of my lighter freckles!
I no longer have oily and dry spots on my skin either- something I’ve dealt with my entire life.
